come visit the pawnee buttes
we've got cows! and street signs! whooheeeeee!

so we've got an old rancher of a neighbor down the way from us (about a mile and change) who was born and raised on the same piece of land, been tending to cattle since he was a boy. on the other side is a shadowy figure known only as "enderson." we know very little of this mystery man, except that he is the sworn enemy of our neighbor, robert rohn. part of the reason seems to be that this enderson is not so punctual about tending to his fences, and as a result, his cows oftentimes make their way onto the roads and other folks' properties. you all remember the picture of the upturned car from a few weeks back? we met ol' bob rohn up there at the scene of the accident (he'd motored up on his little dirt bike) and found him carrying on about how if enderson doesn't start taking care of his fences there were gonna be a lot more accidents like this one (despite the fact that neither enderson nor any of his cows were involved with the accident at hand) and that he'd told the sheriff this, and nobody was listening to him. to cut to the chase, our conversation ended with rohn threatening to shoot both enderson and the sheriff. and then we drove away, eyes peeled for stray cattle and shot-gun weilding neighbors.
well, as many of you know, we were sorta in exile from our lovely abode and workplace for a number of days while we were grappling with this arsenic business. in the end, a hazmat team from ft collins came out, spent a day doing clean-up, and we were back in business. i gave them a walk-through, and in exchange they gave me this sweet suit. with booties!!

and then it was back to work. i've always said there's nothing i hate more than to see a blocked-off window. but what could we do? the pantry doesn't need to see the vast nothing of our horizon view. not really, anyway.

and then the window was part of the wall, and then there was a new wall! our first! it's since been followed by a few friends, but none have been as exciting as that one.
that christina. always a-paintin' on somethin.
this is our only source of heat. for the whole house. send scarves. please!
while the hazmat team did their business, christina wandered around the yard, taking pictures of all the crazy stuff and old buildings.
the original settlement house and barn.

full of a bunch of crazy old stuff.

the skies out here are amazing most of the time.

and this is the famed grover market/restaurant! come visit and we'll take you there for rocky mountain oysters! exquisite!
ah, grover. how we'll miss you when we go.
ah, max. how we'll miss you when you have to move back in with my parents and their crazy mongrels.

ah, red long johns. how toasty and freaking stylish you are. (christina has a matching pair! hot!)

that's it, sorry for the long delay between posts. we've been up to our eyeballs in work getting ready for this week. first the boss pays a visit, then my mom, then we go to denver to help out rich and www.yesterbeer.com. yowza.

again, I love all the pictures, but mostly the last one!
well its about time, we've all been waiting for a new post! I love all the pics as well. Did you guys open that old wooden chest to see what was inside? Probably dead things for christine to put on a string and wear around her neck! By the way...red pajamas...HOT...RED HOT!!! We need a pic of both of you in them. Actually, I think that would be a great pic to send out as your wedding announcement! HAHA!
Ok well I should get back to my lovely job (I bet you can feel the sarcasm). Christine let me know if you got the money from the security deposit in your account.
See you guys soon hopefully!!! BYE!
is anyone else worried about the significance of this anderson/enderson business?
shady fellow? you haven't seen him? i'm afraid you have, in your darkest moments. does this not strike you as the sort of perfect american gothic setting for a showdown between the forces of light and evil? the lowering sky, the hazmat. enderson is YOU anderson, a doppelganger in pajamas as black as sackcloth, awaiting the ENDerson TIMES.
don't fret -- it sounds like the other neighbor will burst in at a climatic moment in your final battle and shotgun-save the day.
First of all i agree with this gregory person(no offense I just dont know you) i had the same feelings about this enderson character, but i could have never have put it so well(splendid job) secondly, doesnt that picture on the window look just like
christine(isnt that just like her)
thirdly, please tell me you are going to fix up that three seater in the old estate house and put it in the finished house.
I finally looked on your site again and the pictures are pretty. Dad and I are going to meet with Shaun's parents this Sunday about noon. But I already told you that last night. It will be nice when you two come back home to stay, and we can work on getting your wedding organized. When we go to Florida to bring his car back, maybe you and shaun would like to stay at home with Vicky until we get back, We'll only be gone for a week, at least you can keep an eye onthings while were gone. Well we 'll be seeing you soon I hope, the boys birthday will be in about a month. Take care and please stay warm and don't work too hard. Love ya both
Mom

Congrats to you both. I am very happy for you. I am happy that you found someone that makes you so happy!
