did you know that elks bugle?

it's true! a rather unique sound, worth seeking out if you're ever in elk country around mating season.

grandma carolyn and grandpa john took us up to trail ridge road (highest continuously paved road in north america!) to listen to them and to drive through the clouds.

christina took some binocular-zoom pictures which came out surprisingly well!

fun huh? more soon, we're getting ready to post some before/after shots of the house we're demolishing and kinda putting back together.

til then-

I want to drive in the clouds! That sounds really cool, but so does almost everything you guys have done so far. Except for the paris green stuff, and the gas leak stuff, and hitting the deer.

I'm so happy that you and Sean are seeing all these wonderful things. You'll have plenty of stories to tell your children. Just like Papa and Nana did with us and you grandchildren. Can't wait till you two are home for good.

I hate talking on the phone, I hate making calls, and well, we all know how often I actually answer my phone in the first place, so you guys really should just come home like now. I am starting to feel like a bad maid of honor because I haven't had much communication with you guys. So stop making me feel bad and come home so I don't have to be forced to talk on the phone. Is this making sense?

Trail Ridge Road rules! When I croak, I totally want my ashes tossed around. Just not into a pack of elk - I don't want to give them elk-asthma.
