Inside the Red Coach

So we had a request for a view inside the Red Coach Inn before they visit. So here it is.......

This is the view from out the front door.

This is the feed and bean across the street. We are lucky it's not a slaughter house, Greeley has a slaughter house and the whole town smells like death, it's gross. There is a bunch of cows on one side and a bunch of trucks driving away on the other, gross.
When you walk in the door the sink is on the left, and the bathroom is behind the wall, toilet and shower! That's more than the ranch had.
Lovely shower, curtain and all. The shower curtain has one little special surprise..............
tweedy bird.
That's the front door, small table and chairs on the left and kitchen on the right.
The sticker came with room.
This is our stuff. And a real T.V. I got that painting in the back from a book/record/coffee shop. The owner is the artist, the place is called Mutiny Now. We liked it, and all records were $3.
We've decorated some, these are old glass bottles that the mason pulled out from under the house. And the glass door knobs that Sean bought me for my birthday, cause I want all glass knobs in my house some day. Isn't he great.
The train art was supplied by the Red Coach. Hey, Ben and Paul that big bottle of wine is full of gloog from Thanksgiving. I will say that it didn't go over as well then as it did with you guys .
This is our kitchen. It has a mini-fridge and microwave on the left and our sink/stove.
That's Sean's new stove-top percolator, he's very excited about it.
This is our bed/couch.
And yes this is our Charlie brown Christmas tree. We went thrift shopping and got this baby with lights already on it and all the fixings for about $10. Merry Christmas.

So now that you have seen it want to come? (Cathy I know you won't) Thanks all we will see most of you soon.

P.S. We looked into the Field Museum for the wedding, any thoughts?

The Red Coach Inn

So I don't think any of you have gotten to see the motel that we now live in. Only Ben and Paul got to experience it first hand. But if you want to come and visit we have an extra double bed in our kitchenette suite.

We are at the house right now and since I am currently unemployed I can't help with any work. I'm going to paint the house whether Sean likes it or not, that's fun stuff. It was really foggy this morning, and Wednesday is going to have a high of 20 degrees, with morning temps at 0 yikes! So like I said if you want to come and visit we have a spare bed.

Hope you all had a good Thanksgiving.

...but wait!

in a strange turn of events, our situation has been re-negotiated, and things are kinda back on track. here's the new deal:

christina's in chicago right now for a few days for some family/friendly stuff. she'll be back this weekend.

we're going to work our tails off for about a week between her return and thanksgiving, but this time we'll be back at the fabulous red coach inn in lucerne, commuting to and from the job. it'll be a little strange.

we'll drive home for thanksgiving, leaving here probably on monday the 20th (christina's BIRTHDAY!!!) and rolling into the IL state on tues evening.

we'll drive BACK out here to live in the motel for a couple (3 tops) weeks to oversee the last of the work happening (flooring, cabinets, last bit of plumbing and carpentry) and leave the house in as done a state as we can manage.

but we'll be back in chicago absolutely positively no later than dec 23 (colin's BIRTHDAY!!!).

i know, i know. like a rollercoaster, this blog. we're generally pretty happy about this turn of events, at least the getting to see the job completed aspect. sorry to get everybody's hopes up for a more timely return, but many many thanks for all the comments and encouragement the last few days.

xoxo

no worries....

so we thought that you should all know that in spite of being disappointed about not finishing the job, we are happy about our choice to walk away now. we are leaving the house in good shape and it will be very easy for whoever walks in to finish the job. the only things left to do that are major are already contracted out and waiting to be scheduled. we had a very good time and have been grateful for the experience. even more so we are happy to get back to our families, life and wedding plans. thank you all for keeping us company on this blog while we were out in the middle0fn0where.

Meet Ben & Paul.............................

Ben and Paul are friends of Sean's. They lived in Philadelphia with him working on the house they all lived in. They were nice enough to agree to come out for awhile (14 days) and help us out. They did support work on the house, new windows, doors, and the most beautiful stairs anyone has ever seen.
So with all that hard work we decided that a weekend in the moutains would be good. This store is on the way to Estes Park, and has a damn good cherry pie.

They also sell shirts and stuff, stuff being visors. You can see one here modeled by Paul. (headshots are available on request)
We drove up Trail Ridge road and found this beautiful view.
Ben and I were relaxing on this nice bench until........................................................................SNOWBALL FIGHT! It was everyone vs. Paul. It made sense at the time.

Ben's idea of a snowball is about a foot wide and wieghs 5 lbs. Too bad for Paul.

Amazing ice sculptures.
If you live in Estes, you are guaranteed to have elk and or deer living in your front yard. The baby deer have huge ears. I think that's funny.
We drove for awhile in the moutains looking for a place to sleep. Finally we found Sundance Lodge, in Nederland. Nederland is home to the amazing frozen dead guy!
We didn't know that the pilot light to our heater wasn't lit till we had spent a couple hours in the restraunt drinking stout and irish coffee and just wanted to eat our cherry pie and go to bed. It was cold.

We worked for another week with them, going back and forth from the house to our fancy motel rooms at the Red Coach Inn. Frequenting the Bayou House next door for $2 pints of Blue Moon and a decent juke box.

These guys saved us. They are truly great people and if you find yourself in Philadelphia and see them on the street, buy them a drink.

You all don't get to see the photos of revelry in Denver, but hopefully you will see Sean and I soon. Looks like the ranch is going to keep us till a little before Christmas now.

Love-

so long!

we know, and we're really really sorry. for real. please forgive us for the lack of posts. it's been a bit nutty out here as of late, with carpenters flying in and out (lots of fun pictures to come soon) and now the boss dropping by for an impromptu visit this weekend. so we're busy. like i said.

BUT we do have lots to post, and we'll start having a bit more time by next week. AND it seems almost certain now that we'll be back here wrapping things up for a few weeks in the beginning of december, so middleofnowhere will stretch into a whole new month, despite our best intentions.

so, hang on everybody, we miss you all and hope you're all doing as well as we are.
